Background and Legacy Paranormal Research Society's Philosophy

At Legacy Paranormal Research Society we seek out Paranormal and Supernatural activities that have been reported throughout history. There are many of skeptics that do not believe in spirits, ghosts, hauntings or other forms of paranormal activity. We in turn seek through scientific investigation with a skeptic eye that there may indeed be evidence that paranormal activity may indeed exist. This can be supported by aromas, sounds, moving objects, shadows out of the corner of the eye and cold chills when there is not even an open window or vents around.

It is purported in this field that many paranormal activities could be caused by an individual that has passed who feels they are not dead and may try to live as they did. This as you can imagine could be very frustrating. Many spirits may eventually go "towards the light" but some may remain grounded and are able to interact with us in various ways. Some individuals may have a strong connection to objects they adored while they were alive on earth before their passing and find it hard to leave them. They may choose to stay here.

There are three main types of hauntings: 1) Intelligent or a human type: In these manifestations, the entity or entities encountered seem to possess human personalities and emotions, albeit in a limited scope. They may at times appear visually in human forms, and are responsive to changes in external conditions such as the activities of the occupants of a household, the presence of investigators, or the rearranging of furnishings in a setting, all of which suggest their formerly having existed as living, cognitive beings.

2) Residual type: In such a case, a scene from the past (recent or remote; it could proceed from any previous time frame) seems to be replayed and is witnessed by a living person or persons. Apparently this is an actual form of time-displacement from a former scenario which transpired at that site, and the entities contained within it rarely display any awareness of their present day observers. However, there have been instances reported when these specters from the past DO seem to briefly notice those who perceive a glimpse of their separated reality.

3) Demonic or inhuman type: This category is unquestionably the most debated, as well as the most dreaded. This falls into the realm of a "demonic" or an "inhuman" type of haunting. It is perhaps of other-dimensional origin, and is often possessed (no pun intended) of a quite hostile nature. Anyone who has up close and personally encountered a demonic entity in action never wants the experience repeated It often evinces a form of intelligence (initially similar to a "human" type of haunting) in that it may insidiously seem to anticipate the approaches of the person(s) it menaces, including any paranormal investigators who are endeavoring to rid a home of its presence. Endemic to this most unwelcome infestation is a pronounced psychological instability, distress or unresolved conflict on the part of a resident or residents of the household subjected to the demonic assault (Johnson, C,. Johnson, K., Paranormal Conference, Penn State U.,2003).

NOTE: We at Legacy Paranormal Research Society "NEVER" use the technique of communication through Ouija Board's, Séance's, Medium's or Psychic's.

We may hire volunteers with special abilities but we will not use their abilities as our judgement on whether a place is haunted or not.

It is important to note that 97% of paranormal claims can be dismissed as something natural. In most these cases medication, mold, harmful vapors from cans, loose duct work which can make moan sounds and old homes settling that make things creak can explain much of paranormal activity away. However, the other 3% can be presumed as paranormal activity such as light anomalies, orbs, apparitions, cold spots or objects moving or flying around.

It is for this reason that we exist as Legacy Paranormal Research Society. We are here to help those who are feeling that some type of paranormal activity is happening to them, their home, or any other area such as a place of business, hospital etc. By using the latest in scientific technology we will investigate, analyze, and report our findings to anyone who would like to enroll our services, which are free of charge. We do hope to hear from you if you have a situation that is causing you stress, or if you are just curious as to what is going on in your home, business etc.

Please take note as stated above that even though we never charge a fee for any services we provide you, you can make a donation for our expenses (Fuel), but are on no way obligated to.

But However If the request is Out Of State then we may require Lodging and Fuel to compensate in our travel to the Home, Business, etc, we are going to investigate. This is for out of State only not local.

The donations we receive from individuals are used for the website and equipment only, not for personal use. We commit ourselves to bring you evidence from different locations throughout the state of New York and some surrounding states as well, so with better equipment this will enhance the group tasks with better viewing. Also we are not a business for profit.
